Counselling & psychotherapy help us understand how we feel and why we react in certain ways, but the underlying principle behind all our responses and behaviours is our unconscious mind.
Our unconscious mind is our autopilot; it regulates all the functions of our body and - to a great extent - how we respond to events from our past, present and future.
Advanced methodologies such as Hypnotherapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, and Mindscaping are the express highway to the unconscious mind and allow us to make rapid and permanent changes to turn your life around fast.

What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is simply a state where we are relaxed and yet focused at the same time. Have you ever been so engrossed in a great conversation with someone that you lost track of time and everything else going on around you? We sometimes call that a hypnotic experience, don't we?
Maybe you have been driving somewhere - and so wrapped up in your own thoughts or listening to the radio that when you get to your destination you have little conscious awareness of the driving events along the way? Yet you stopped at the red lights, noticed hazards, avoided obstacles and navigated at the same time. This is your unconscious mind at work.
What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a safe, proven and powerful technique to install positive changes directly to our unconscious mind.
It's, fast, it's effective - and it works.
This again is a natural process - and one you have accessed without realising it:
That film you last watched where you became excited, emotional or laughed out loud? That was simply where you relaxed, suspended your disbelief and played along for 90 minutes.
The characters were only actors. There was no real peril and no real drama - it was only a story. But you allowed yourself to pretend and your unconscious mind responded to the story as if it were very real. And as we all know:
The best stories can change us forever...
What happens in a Hypnotherapy session?
Before we start hypnosis we discuss and agree on what you want to work on in that session. We explore the events and thoughts around the matter to be worked on and agree on what we call a target state - how you want to feel when the matter has been resolved.
As your skilled Hypnotherapist I help you get into a comfortable and relaxed state through what we call an induction - this will help you become receptive to the narrative that follows; a therapeutic story that your unconscious mind will accept as though it were real.
You are never asleep in hypnosis. At any time you could open your eyes and get up - but I'd rather you stay in control by holding on to that sense of relaxation and play along as the narrative unfolds.
I will create a powerful therapeutic narrative personalised to you. A story rich in metaphor and symbolism that will resonate with your unconscious mind and translate into new, more helpful patterns of thoughts and behaviours.
Once the narrative is complete I will gently bring you back to your conscious 'awake' state (remember - you are never asleep during hypnosis)
And its as simple as that! No swinging watches, no loss of control - and no sleep. Because we agree on the work before you enter hypnosis your unconscious mind will only accept suggestions congruent with and supportive of your target state.
What does Hypnosis feel like?
Its different for everybody, but words like comfortable, relaxed, warm & fuzzy are commonly used. For me, its like the precious moments just before I drift off to sleep; I could still get up or read a book, but its all too much effort and I'd rather just stay there and enjoy the feeling.
Because I don't want you to go to sleep I do most of our work with you sitting on an upright chair or sometimes standing. I will ensure that you are safe and comfortable throughout.
What can Hypnotherapy be used for?
Hypnotherapy is an amplifier of experience and is the ultimate learning state, so any of the talk therapies such as Counselling, Psychotherapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) can be made far, far more effective by delivering them through Hypnosis.
Hypnotherapy is great for relieving stress & anxiety, clearing phobias, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and even the effects of trauma; many people suffering Post Traumatic Stress Disorder find Hypnotherapy works where all other therapies have not.
As your skilled Hypnotherapist it is my job to maintain your state of hypnosis by monitoring your breathing, galvanic responses (complexion & skin tone) and body posture. It's hard to do that effectively on a remote basis so I use other interventions such as Mindscaping when working with clients over the telephone or via Skype.
